Reporting a bug
These usually save us a round trip:
- Your device model, for example iPhone 14 Pro
- Your iOS version, from Settings › General › About
- The Doku version, at the bottom of the app's settings screen
- What you did, and what happened instead of what you expected
If it's about one puzzle, include the level number or the date. A screenshot helps more than a description.
Common questions
How do I place an answer?
Double tap. A single tap only marks a square you've ruled out, and you can drag to mark several at once. If squares are getting committed by accident, you're double-tapping when you meant to mark.
Why isn't there a hint button?
Every board is checked before it ships to be solvable by reasoning, so a hint would just be doing that reasoning for you. The rules sheet is one tap from any board and usually gets you unstuck faster.
I ran out of chances. Did I lose my progress?
No. Numbered levels give you three chances, and using all three only restarts that attempt. Your place in the level map doesn't move backward. The daily puzzle has no chance limit at all.
Does Doku work offline?
Yes. Every puzzle ships inside the app. There's no account and no sync, and your board is saved on every move, so closing the app mid-puzzle puts you back where you were.
How do I stop the app collecting usage data?
Open settings and turn Usage data off. Collection stops immediately and anything still queued is thrown away. Ads are handled separately by Google, and you can limit ad tracking for all apps under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Our Privacy Policy covers what is and isn't collected.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. That removes your progress and the random ID used for usage statistics from your device. There's no account to close.
Are there in-app purchases?
No. Nothing in the app is behind a payment.
When is Doku coming to the App Store?
We don't have a date yet. The Doku section will say when it's out.
